This Dainichi Nyorai bonji represents “The Centre of the Universe.” Dainichi, or “Great Sun” in Japanese, is worshipped as the one supreme Buddha from whom other Buddhas come. Nyorai means “thus come one.” Great light emanates from Buddha’s teachings and gives warmth to all. It is said that everything in the cosmos is considered a manifestation of this Dainichi.
